Greetings

Last updated: 2/21/2025

The Greetings page lets you configure welcome and goodbye messages for your Discord server. The main content has two sections: Welcome and Goodbye. On desktop they appear as tabs; on smaller screens use the dropdown to switch between them. Each section has its own form and saved settings.

Choose the channel where messages are sent from a dropdown. The first option is "Don't send"; the rest are your server's channels (name and type). If no channel is selected, greetings are not sent even when the message is enabled. Use the "Enabled" switch to turn the message on or off without changing the rest of the settings.

The message can be Text only, Embed only, or Text and embed. For text, use the "Message text" field with placeholders and the character counter. For embed, set title, description, color, and optional fields (name and value) with "Add field." The form checks length limits and shows a Save button when you can save.

Placeholders work in the message text and in embed title, description, and fields. The UI lists them: {user}, {username}, {userTag}, {userId}, {server}, and {memberCount}. They are replaced when the message is sent (for example with the member's name, server name, or current member count). The Welcome tab is for when someone joins; the Goodbye tab is for when someone leaves. The form and placeholders work the same in both.
