Invite Link Attribution
Every invite link tells a different story. An invite posted on Reddit might bring 500 people who all leave in 3 days. A partner server's link might bring 50 people with 60% Day-30 retention. Without attribution, you optimize for joins. With it, you optimize for retention — the metric that actually grows communities.
How It Works
- System tracks every invite link: creator, date, uses, and which members joined via it
- Each member's join source is tagged and linked to their activity timeline
- Retention rate calculated per invite: 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day
- Attribution dashboard ranks sources by retention quality, not just volume
- Compare: organic discovery vs DISBOARD vs partner links vs social media
- Alerts when a high-volume invite source shows abnormally low retention (possible bot traffic)
What It Tracks
- Retention rate per invite link (7-day, 30-day, 90-day)
- Total joins per source with trend over time
- Source quality score (volume × retention rate)
- Bot traffic detection (joins with 0% Day-1 activity)
- Top retention sources ranking
- Invite abuse detection (sudden spike in uses)
- Partner server attribution tracking
Use Cases
- Gaming server discovering DISBOARD brings 3x more joins but half the retention of Reddit posts
- Crypto project learning their Twitter invite link has 8% Day-30 retention vs 34% from YouTube
- Brand community finding their website embed converts better than any social channel
- Education server tracking which partner university Discord brings the most engaged students

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work with DISBOARD and partner servers?
Yes. Any invite link created in your server is tracked. For DISBOARD, the link they use appears in the attribution report like any other source.
Can I track UTM-like parameters?
Invite links can be named/labeled in the dashboard for easier identification. Full UTM support is on the Q3 2026 roadmap.
What counts as 'bot traffic' in attribution?
Members who join via a link and have zero activity (no messages, no reactions, no voice) within 24 hours. These are flagged but not auto-banned — review is manual.
